Rolleiflex 2.8F w/80mm Zeiss Planar Twin Lens

$1,850.00

This is a fully functioning Rolleiflex 2.8F twin lens medium format camera built between 1966-67. This is the less common, higher end model with a lens that opens up to a maximum aperture of f2.8 for more shallow depth of field, easier focusing, and that creamy analog quality to your images.

Cosmetically this camera is in good "user" condition. It shows some signs of use, though it definitely still looks sharp. It has no dents or deep scratches though it does have several small spots of paint loss on its edges, scuffs on the bottom plate where it mounts to a tripod.

The mechanics of the camera all work as they should. The ground glass, with a split-image circle in the center, is clean and bright. The waist level viewfinder pops up into position smoothly, and closes easily. The pop-up magnifying glass works as it should and helps with critical focus. The shutter speeds sound accurate throughout the range. The focusing motion is smooth. The light meter works! And it is accurate enough for ambient light.

The film advance works as it should. The tension in the spring that keeps the film advance lever against the body is a bit loose. It doesn't get in the way when handling the camera though it is worth mentioning.

Both of the lenses are clear and bright, free of any large specks of dust, haze, fungus, or separation.

This camera had been in use until recently when it was brought in for sale, so it is ready to be put back into use today! Great for quiet and candid street shots as well as portraits!

***Includes the hard-to-find lens cap and lens hood that are specific to this model.
